Blake is here!

Our little Blake is finally here! My due date was Nov 19th and he still hadn't come. The doctor sent me for an ultra sound and monitoring and noticed that the baby wasn't responding very much. They sent me to the hospital to do more monitoring and possibly be induced. They monitored me for a few hours and ended up sending me home. They had me come back Sunday afternoon for more monitoring. My blood pressure was high, so they decided to induce me. He arrived Monday morning at 11:33am weighing 8lbs, 11oz and measuring 20 1/2 inches. The umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck 3 times, but everything ended up being fine. He's very healthy and cute, and we love him a ton!

Halloween

For Halloween my mother in-law made the girls kimonos. They decided that they wanted to be Mulan, so we painted their faces white and put some chopsticks in their hair. I think they make pretty cute Mulans.

Cow Appreciation Day

A few weeks ago, we went to Chick-fil-a for Cow Appreciation Day. If you dress up as a cow from head to toe, they give you a free value meal. It's a little embarrassing that I made them cat ears instead of cow ears. For some reason I couldn't remember what cow ears looked like. The girls loved being little cows for a few hours.

Shopping with the girls

I took the girls shopping with me while I looked for maternity clothes. Shopping with my kids is never a good idea. I don't know why I keep doing it. They both found things that they could not live without.

Bailey found a hideous maternity shirt that she just had to have. When I told her no, she threw the hugest fit. She begged and begged to take it home. She said it would make her beautiful.

Livvy wouldn't leave this manikin's side. She kept saying "it's so butiful." "Take a picture."

It's a Boy!!!

We had an ultra sound yesterday and found out that we'll be having a little boy. I thought it would be a boy because I've felt more crummy with this one than with my girls. So far we really like the name Blake, but we might change our minds as it gets closer. As we were leaving the doctor's office, Bailey said in a really stressed out voice, "Hey where's the baby?" She thought we'd be leaving with a baby so she was a little bummed. I guess the pictures just weren't good enough. Both girls are really excited to be big sisters.

Disneyland

We took a Disneyland trip with our family last week and had such a great time. We went with Marcus's whole family. His brother just got home from his mission, and his sister and brother in law live in Mississippi. It's been a long time since we've all been together. Princess Tiana was the only princess we were able to see and the girls LOVED her.
One of their favorites was the Jungle Cruise. I'm pretty sure they thought the animals were real. Towards the end of the ride, Bailey was waving to the baby elephant and it sprayed water in her face. She had her feelings hurt for a while until we convinced her he was just giving her a kiss.

I was really surprised to see Livvy so comfortable around the characters. Every time we see the cow at Chick Filet, she freaks out. She was in love with the chipmunks. As we were walking away she said,"Bye I love you. I love you so much." One of the chipmunks thought she was so cute that he left another girl he was taking a picture with and gave her a big hug. It was so cute.

During the parade they pulled both of them in to dance. They looked cute shaking their little booties!

California Adventure was really neat. Our favorite kid's ride was Toy Story.

We saw a 3-D Bug's Life movie which totally freaked the kids out, but at least they look cute in their glasses.

This is my favorite picture of Livvy.

Bailey's Dance Recital

Bailey had her first big dance recital at Mesa Arts Center on Saturday. It was seriously the cutest thing I've ever seen. She is quite the little dancer! She knew the entire routine, and most of the kids were turning around watching her to know what to do. She absolutely loved all the attention. I asked her after if she was scared and she gave me a dirty look and said "no", like why would I be scared? She definetely loves to perform!

My sister put this old family picture on her blog and I had to steal it because I thought it was funny. I'm the one in the yellow if you can't tell. I think Bailey and I have a few similarities, don't you think?

Mean Mom

Bailey was in trouble for something, I don't remember what. I put her in timeout and she was very upset. I found her over by our family picture, stroking my face. She said in a very sad voice, "Mom come look at this picture." She let out a big sigh. "You used to be so happy. Now you are so mean."

Baby #3 is on the way!

We are very excited to announce that I'm pregnant with baby #3! It's really hard to believe that we will be a family of 5. I don't feel old or mature enough to have 3 kids, but I guess I'll figure it out somehow. So far this has probably been the sickest I've been while pregnant, but it hasn't been too bad. Marcus feels a little out numbered with so many girls, so we're hoping for a boy. Bailey thinks it's a boy and a girl. I really hope she's not right about that. She wants the girl's name to be Dora, and the boy to be Calendar. We may have to consider a few more options for names. I look forward to more weeks of feeling sick and gaining weight!

Preschool!

I'm sure that most people already know that I do a preschool with my mom 3 days a week. I wanted to let everyone know that we are now accepting kids for Fall registration, which starts in August. We teach 3, 4, and 5 year olds. This year we will be offering both a 2 day class on Mon & Wed, and a 3 day class on Mon, Wed, and Fri. Let me know if you're interested, and I can give you more information. Thanks!

Princess Party

Bailey and Livvy missed thier friend's princess tea party last week because they were sick. We decided to have a little tea party of our own with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, milk, and cookies. The girls got dressed in princess attire, and we even put make-up on! I think I was a little underdressed.

Bailey can be a little random at times. It's pretty funny to see the things she comes up with.
I couldn't help but take a picture.

Cruise 2010!!!

A few weeks ago, we went on a cruise with our friends the Ashby's, Curry's, and Johnson's. We left all of our kiddos with grandparents, crammed into our Pilot, and headed to San Diego. We had a blast!

There was so much to do on the ship. On the second day, Kimmy and I were able to fight our way up to the stage to play Family Fued. I kinda felt like a movie star! My question was "Name something you use only once." The guy buzzed in first and said, "Condom." His answer was no good, so I tried to steal with "Tampon". My answer wasn't on there either, but got a good laugh. The girls team ended up winning the whole game and Kimmy and I took home trophys.

On the third day we stopped in Ensenada. There wasn't much to do there, but we had fun eating, shopping, and goofing around.

I really wanted to buy the girls some mexican dresses, but Marcus convinced me that they would never wear them, and I realized he was right. I settled for Dora and Belle mask /capes. They were kinda creepy, but I knew they would like them. When I brought them home, Bailey wore hers all day even though she could barely see or breathe in it.

After Mexico we went swimming and watched the Cardinals' game. Mari bought us all matching tank tops. It was a fun filled afternoon!

The highlight of the night was kareoke. We went two nights in a row because it was extremely entertaining. The first night, Marcus and I sang summer nights from Grease. We messed up a lot, but it was really fun. Mari, Kimmie, and Melissa sang as well. I never knew that I had friends with so much talent for singing! The second night, we just watched people sing. A lady got up and danced to "Baby Got Back". It was one of the funniest things I'd ever seen. We were crying by the time the song was over.
